In 2004 The City of Revere, through the Youth and Recreation Department  comissioned Fitzy Snowman Sculpting to create an 11 foot tall sandcastle to add a professional flair to "Celebrate Revere Day". The sandcastle ended up being the highlight of the event and caught the attention of the Revere Beach Partnership. In 2005,Fitzy Snowman teamed up with the Partnership  and created the first ever master sand sculpting event in Massachusetts' history. The 3 day event was a huge success and paved way for the 2006 New England Sand Sculpting Invitational. This week long sand sculpting event drew over 250,000 spectators to Revere Beach.  In 2007 the Event continued it's tradition of bigger and better. Fitzy Snowman and the other artists created  a huge 250 ton pirates inspired sculpture. 2008 marks the Fifth Annual New England Sand Sculpting Festival. The festival kicks off July 13th and runs thruough July 20th. This event will continue to have a huge cultural and economic impact for the entire region.
