Katie is a full- time professional sand sculptor, appearing in Southwest Florida as Sand Magic Sculpting. She has traveled internationally, working for numerous sand sculpting companies. As a master sculptor , Katie competes at sand events around the country.In 2008 she made her debut appearance on "Sand Blasters". Katie's background includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin and a Masters of Arts  degree from Auburn university, Alabama. Although she has worked in metal. stone, wood, glass and clay, sand has been her focus and passion since she was introduced to it a few years ago. She appreciates the ephemeral nature of sand sculpture and enjoys the physical and strategic challenges of designing and building in sand. Out of the sand, Katie is a freelance writer and photographer. She home schools her teenage son
